Oven: 350F Makes 5 cups
What you will need:
8 ounces of Italian sausage
1/2 cup of chopped onion (1 medium onion)
1/2 cup of chopped red sweet pepper
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 8 ounce packages of cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups of parmesan cheese
1/4 cup of milk
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
1/4 cup of sour cream
2 cups of fresh spinach leaves
1/3 cup of mild bannana pepper rings
French bread slices for dipping
1. In large skillet cook your sausage, onion, sweet pepper and garlic until the sausage becomes brown, when done set aside and let cool.
2. In a large mixing bowl stir together the cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, milk, mayonnaise and sour cream. Add the sausage mixture you set aside to cool, as well as your spinach leaves and bannana peppers. Stir it all together to combine.
3. Spread evenly into a 9inch deep dish, and bake for 30 minutes on 350F, or until it starts to get bubbly.
This is an appetizer, but we made it as a meal since we had a bigger lunch earlier in the day, we added watermelon as a little add on to the meal!
